This study (165) reported a significant interaction between smoking status and PPARγ SNP rs1801282 on the risk of MetS (Pinteraction = 0.031) where among the non-smokers, carriers of the “Pro/Ala” genotype (p = 0.0059) and the “Ala12” allele (p = 0.009) had a higher risk of MetS than non-carriers. This evidence concerns the gene PPARG and metabolic syndrome.
