Finally, NOX5 has been shown to be a key player in human hypertension (Elbatreek et al., 2020; Camargo et al., 2022), and a recent paper has revealed that a component of vascular smooth muscle cell dysfunction is an AngII/NOX5/proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase Src signaling network which can alter actin polymerization and cell migration (Camargo et al., 2022). This evidence concerns the gene NOX5 and Hypertension.
