P.Thr790Met (T790M) mutation of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) occurs in approximately 50%–60% of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients who received first-generation EGFR-TKIs (tyrosine kinase inhibitors) and is one of the main mechanisms of acquired drug resistance (1–3). Here, EGFR is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
