There are genetic disorders that have been associated with the development of gastric cancer and include PeutzJegher syndrome, (STK11), MUTYH-associated adenomatous polyposis, Li-Fraumeni syndrome (TP53), juvenile polyposis (SMAD4, BMPR1A), Cowden Syndrome (PTEN), Lynch syndrome (PMS2, MLH1/2, MSH6), and familial adenomatous polyposis (APC) [24]. Here, PTEN is linked to gastric cancer.
