The ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2T (UBE2T) increases the expression of the de novo synthesis of pyrimidine metabolism associated enzymes, including carbamoyl-phosphate synthetase 2, aspartate transcarbamoylase, dihydroorotase (CAD), dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH), and uridine 5′-monophosphate synthase (UMPS), and enhances the pyrimidine metabolism by facilitating AKT ubiquitination and AKT/β-catenin signaling, thereby promoting the HCC progression [92]. This evidence concerns the gene DHODH and hepatocellular carcinoma.
