CD8A and melanoma: In addition to the previously reported increase in NK early effector markers and improved survival in melanomas with higher CD47 [22], further analysis of the melanoma TCGA data showed an improved overall survival of patients bearing tumors with higher CD8 T cell infiltration, indicated by CD8A mRNA expression (111 versus 58 months, log-rank P = 4.7 × 10−6, Figure 4A).
