Recent clinical studies combining D2R and GLP-1R agonists in patients with type 2 diabetes [24] and the increasing interest in GLP-1R agonists for Parkinson’s treatment [25] demand the unraveling of the putative crosstalk dopamine-GLP-1, which led us to speculate if GLP-1R could be stimulated by dopamine receptor agonism. This evidence concerns the gene GLP1R and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
