The pan-RAR antagonist AGN194310 and the RARγ antagonist AGN205728 were highly effective in driving growth arrest in G1 of cell cycle and death of primary cultures of patients’ prostate cancer cells and the human DU-145, LNCaP, and PC-3 cell line cells (IC50 values of 3.5 to 6 × 10−7 M). The gene discussed is RARG; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
