To not completely dismiss the utility of PPARs in cardiovascular disease therapy, it is important to note that many conventional pharmacological therapies (Aspirin, Statins, Angiotensin-converting enzyme [ACE] inhibitors, and Angiotensin receptor blockers [ARBs]) for primary or secondary prevention of myocardial infarction often affect PPARs.
