Taking into account that the PCCB patient presented dilated cardiomyopathy, we first analyzed the expression at the mRNA level of different genes (MYH6, MYH7, and ACTN2) coding for cardiac damage markers (α-MHC, β-MHC, and α-actinin 2); and of several genes involved in heart calcium handling (SERCA2, RyR2, and CACNA1C) and K+ (KCNQ1) cardiac channel. Here, ACTN2 is linked to dilated cardiomyopathy.
