Both patients with CRPC and with metastatic disease at diagnosis can have improvements in overall survival (OS) with many treatments that include chemotherapy, such as docetaxel and, recently, cabazitaxel; radium-223, used for the treatment of bone; and denosumab, an antagonist of receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand (RANKL).
