The tissue with the lowest cell count was that of the 7-year-old ß-thalassemia major patient (not used for organ culture) (Figure 6h, patient 1), followed by the 9-year-old SCD patient (patient 4), the 9-year-old MDS patient (patient 3), and the 12-year-old patient with XIAP deficiency (Figure 6h, patient 6). Here, XIAP is linked to myelodysplastic syndrome.
