Twenty-five of these studies investigated the following biomarkers: carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen (CA 19-9), thrombocytes, hemoglobin (Hb), leukocytes, lymphocytes, c-reactive protein (CRP), albumin, and lipids, while twenty-four studies focused on acid nucleic liquid biopsies, analyzing cell free DNA (cfDNA), circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), and microRNA (miRNA) (Table S1).
