The mean number of Foxp3+ cells was significantly higher in grade III carcinoma than in grade I in all compartments (p < 0.000 in the intratumoral compartment and adjacent stroma, and p = 0.01 in distant stroma), whereas it was higher in grade III when compared to grade II carcinoma in the intratumoral compartment (p = 0.02) and adjacent stroma. This evidence concerns the gene FOXP3 and carcinoma.
