CD163 and diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma: Another study using immunohistochemistry (IHC) to compare immune cell infiltration in pediatric tumors showed that although the median number of total CD68+ cells accounted for 10% of total cells in pediatric low-grade glioma (pLGG), pediatric high-grade glioma (pHGG) and DIPG, the number of CD163+ macrophages were 10.4 times and 5.9 times higher than normal tissues in pLGG and pHGG samples, but there was no significant increase in DIPG.
