VEGFA and colorectal cancer: Importantly, in colorectal cancer patients who failed to respond to first-line therapy with the bevacizumab-containing regimen, the FGFR2 inhibitor ramucirumab, which suppresses not only VEGF-A but also VEGF-C and VEGF-D mediated signaling, showed a better OS in patients with high serum VEGF-D levels than in patients with a low serum VEGF-D level [26].
