While a caspase‐4 inhibitor is not currently available, several NLRP3 inhibitors are undergoing development and clinical trials for inflammation‐associated manifestations, such as gout, atherosclerosis, non‐alcoholic steatohepatitis, and COVID‐19 (El‐Sharkawy et al, 2020; Coll et al, 2022). This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and gout.
