STON1 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma: We found that most cancers including KIRC, kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), kidney chromophobe (KICH), breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD), stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), thyroid carcinoma (THCA), and uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC)—showed a decreased STON1 mRNA level, while head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC) displayed an upregulated STON1 mRNA level (Fig. 1a).
