Rearrangement at t(15;17)(q24;q21) between the Promyelocytic Leukemia (PML) and Retinoic Acid Receptor Alpha (RARA) genes results in the generation of a PML::RARA fusion gene, whose expression is the primary cause of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL)1,2. This evidence concerns the gene RARA and acute promyelocytic leukemia.
