Consistently, genes responsible for lipogenesis and inflammation in NAFLD/NASH were found to be significantly increased in the liver of Alb-Cre;Tcf7l2f/f mice, as compared with wild-type mice, following HCD feeding, whilst elevation of these genes was less consistently observed following HFD feeding (ESM Fig. 2b,c). Here, ALB is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
