ACBD3 and lung carcinoma: To assess how ZEB1 silences ACBD3 expression, we initially carried out RNA Pol II ChIP assays on the ACBD3 gene promoter in ZEB1-deficient and -replete lung cancer cells and found that, despite the presence of several E-boxes in the ACBD3 gene promoter (Supplemental Figure 2J), ZEB1 depletion did not detectably alter RNA Pol II–binding activity (Supplemental Figure 2K), suggesting that ZEB1 silences ACBD3 through a posttranscriptional mechanism.
