To test this hypothesis, we initially queried The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) lung cancer cohort and found that an EMT-associated gene expression signature was positively correlated with PI4K2A levels, whereas other PI4K family members were either negatively correlated (PI4KB, PI4K2B) or not correlated (PI4KA) with EMT (Figure 1A). Here, PI4KB is linked to lung carcinoma.
