Their data indicated that IgE-mediated autoreactivity was confined to patients with AD, and from 8.7% to 29% out of AD patients had self-reactive IgE for different autoantigens, including actin-α, tubulin-α, eukaryotic translation initiation factor 6 (eIF6), HLA-DR-α, and microtubule-associated protein RP/EB family member 2 (MAPRE2) (Zeller et al., 2009). Here, MAPRE2 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
