APOA5 and metabolic syndrome: The acute-phase reactions in sepsis induce dyslipidemia, characterized by high triglyceride levels and low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol values.8 Serum APOA5 concentrations in juvenile patients with sepsis have been found to be substantially greater than in adult patients.9 The objective of the present study was to determine whether the levels of PSP, copeptin, and APOA5 can serve as diagnostic and prognostic sepsis biomarkers.
