The third-generation EGFR-TKI osimertinib has demonstrated longer PFS and OS and better central nervous system permeability than first-generation EGFR-TKIs in the FLAURA study.23,24 At the start of our trial, the FLAURA study had not reported results, and first-generation EGFR-TKIs were still the standard first-line treatment for advanced EGFR-mutant NSCLC.
