Thus far, IL-13 has been identified as a key driver in allergic asthma and has therefore influenced the production of therapeutics targeting the IL-13 pathway, including antibodies like anrukinzumab, lebrikizumab, and tralokinumab, which prevent IL-13 signaling through IL-13Rα1 and IL-13Rα2, while maintaining IL-4 signaling through the type I receptor (40). Here, IL13 is linked to allergic asthma.
