To better understand the virulence defect of ΔzfpA in wild-type larvae and to determine the impact of ZfpA on fungal growth and inflammation during infection, we injected RFP-expressing WT CEA10, ΔzfpA, or OE::zfpA strains into immunocompetent, transgenic zebrafish larvae with fluorescent neutrophils and macrophages (Tg(lyz:BFP/ mpeg1:EGFP)). This evidence concerns the gene MPEG1 and infection.
