SLC16A1 and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder: In participants with ADHD, miR-328-3p was upregulated; among the enriched pathways of its targets, we observe that BSG (Basigin) is expressed in the nervous system and regulates a pathway involved in the disruption of monocarboxylate transporter 1 (SLC16A1) that leads to lactate transport deficiency [40].
