AQP1 is known to be upregulated by hypoxia that leads to increased cell water permeability, motility, and migration in neuroblastoma, lung and prostate cancer cells (Mobasheri et al., 2005; Hwang et al., 2012; Wei and Dong, 2015; Huo et al., 2021).
