A study based on patients with NASH and choline-deficient L-amino acid-defined diet (CDAA)-induced NAFLD models in mice showed that hepatic RIPK3 correlated with NAFLD severity in humans and mice and RIPK3 deficiency ameliorated CDAA-induced inflammation, fibrosis and carcinogenesis in mice (121). Here, RIPK3 is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
