In the current study, we quantified major immune cell populations of the small and large intestines, the MLNs, and the spleens of NPP7 HT and KO mice, and WT mice, by means of quantitative image analysis, with the aim to investigate a potential role for NPP7 in the homeostasis of the gut immune system, which in turn is of central importance in numerous diseases including inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer. This evidence concerns the gene ENPP7 and colorectal cancer.
