Mhawech-Fauceglia et al. found IMP3 positivity (in more than 5% of tumor cells) in 100 and 12% of serous and endometrioid endometrial carcinomas, respectively and suggested the combination of IMP3 and PTEN as a useful panel for distinguishing between these two tumor types (P <  0.001) [16]. The gene discussed is IMP3; the disease is endometrial endometrioid carcinoma.
