In addition to identifying a set of inflammatory diet proteins whose levels were associated with risk for cognitive impairment over a 14-year follow-up period, we demonstrated that several of these same proteins were associated with dementia risk in two external cohorts and correlated with plasma biomarkers of AD pathology (Aβ42/40) and/or neurodegeneration (NfL). The gene discussed is NEFL; the disease is Cognitive impairment.
