A similar strategy has been used clinically to treat homozygous hypercholesterolemia using Mipomersen and Inclisiran [19, 55], which are RNase H1-active ASOs that induce the degradation of mRNAs encoding apolipoprotein B and proprotein convertase subtilisin–kexin type 9 (PCSK9), respectively [56, 57]. Here, PCSK9 is linked to familial hypercholesterolemia.
