An oncogenic role for METTL3 has been suggested in several cancers, with high levels of METTL3 expression reported in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), gastric cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (Barbieri et al., 2017; Vu et al., 2017; Chen et al., 2018; Wei et al., 2022).
