Catalpa, a bioactive ingredient in Zantedeschia rehmannii root, can not only improve liver insulin resistance by acting on AMPK/NOX4/PI-3 K/AKT pathways [7] but also improve HFD-induced insulin resistance in mice by reducing adipose tissue inflammation and inhibiting JNK and NF-κB pathways [40].
