With exception for smoking (rs10774624 for IL-27) (29), body mass (rs10774624 for IL-27 and rs4959106 for IL-6) (30) and high cholesterol (rs4959106 for IL-6) (31), it was unlikely that other traits had pleiotropic effects on the observed associations between genetic predisposition to IL levels and prostate cancer risk. Here, IL27 is linked to prostate cancer.
