Wang et al stated that the TNF-α and IL-6 secretion is reduced by polyphenols extracted from chamomile, and quercetin without 1L-1β alteration.18 A polyphenol-rich diet can help patients with COVID-19 to decrease inflammation due to the hyper-activation of cytokines as TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8.19 In general, polyphenols modulate inflammatory cytokines, which is one of the most common mechanisms by which they use immune-modulator effects. Here, IL6 is linked to COVID-19.
