As previously documented, only 73.8% detection sensitivity could be obtained using current fecal immunochemical (FIT) testing for CRC (100ng/mL), in comparison to 92.3% in case of stool-based DNA assay screening bone morphogenetic protein 3 (BMP3), KRAS, aberrant NDRG4 and methylation [26], however with a limited diagnostic screening for early disease detection. The gene discussed is NDRG4; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
