It has been found that NF-κB is activated in the SNpc of PD patients and MPTP-intoxicated mice and monkey [14, 15, 25] and that selective inhibition of NF-κB by NEMO-binding domain (NBD) peptides protect dopaminergic neurons in mouse [15] and monkey [25] models of PD. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and Parkinson disease.
