While this small set of samples did not show a significant difference in SIRT2 levels in either group for CSF or plasma (Fig. 3D), the CSF SIRT2 levels correlated strongly with MAPT (P < 0.001; rho = 0.7569) (Fig. 3E) and neurofilament light protein (NFL) (P < 0.001; rho = 0.7131) (Fig. 3F), a well-known biomarker of neuronal damage in HIV infection (14). The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is HIV infectious disease.
