In addition, we found the levels of the ZO-1, Occludin, and Claudin-5 were significantly decreased in the peri-infarct cortex of PT mice, and AAV-BR1-FTO treatment ameliorated this process compared with AAV-BR1-Con treatment (Supplementary Fig. 14a, b), indicating that the specific expression of FTO in ECs enhanced the repair of BBB disruption in the peri-infarct cortex after stroke. This evidence concerns the gene FTO and stroke disorder.
