Compared to malaria monoinfection, IFN-γ and CXCL8 levels were significantly increased in malaria coinfections [(P < 0.001, MD: 26.10 pg/mL, 95% CI: −21.81–−10.67 pg/mL, I2: 99.21%, 5 studies) and (P < 0.001, MD: 366.02 pg/mL, 95% CI: 292.1–439.94 pg/mL, I2: 99.80%, 3 studies), respectively].
