There is one study showing the coexpression of CEACAM1 and TIM-3 molecules on CD8+ T cell in a mouse colorectal cancer model and human colorectal cancer patients, and CEACAM1 can be upregulated by IFN-γ and interleukin-27, leading to the suggestion that CEACAM1 may be a phenotype of failing T cells [15]. This evidence concerns the gene IL27 and colorectal cancer.
