Our results reveal that the expression of SLC38A6 is up-regulated in PBMCs of patients with bacterial pneumonia, which is the first report of this molecule in pneumonia, SLC38A6 family molecules are generally considered to be related to amino acid transport function, so we speculate that SLC38A6 may participate in pulmonary inflammation by affecting the synthesis or modification of inflammatory factors. This evidence concerns the gene SLC38A6 and bacterial pneumonia.
