It has been shown that overexpression of RETNLB could facilitate invasion and migration of gastric carcinoma cells and it increases the expression of Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) -related proteins, such as N-cadherin, Snail, Vimentin, decreasing the E-cadherin level, promoting the progression of EMT. The gene discussed is RETNLB; the disease is gastric carcinoma.
