In cardiac hypertrophy, the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway is activated by many types of cellular stimuli or toxic insults to regulate fundamental cellular processes including protein synthesis, proliferation, and survival, via its downstream signals, such as AKT, GSK3β, mTOR, P70S6K, and eIF-4E [30–32]. Here, AKT1 is linked to cardiac hypertrophy.
