ACE and Hypertension: Many common and effective drugs, including angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs)/angiotensin II (Ang II) type 1 receptor blockers (ARBs), beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers (CCBs), and diuretics, have been widely confirmed to control raised blood pressure (5), causing a significant reduction of mortality associated with hypertension; however, hypertension still remains a major public health problem and health care burden in both developed and developing countries.
