By observing the gastrointestinal motility and NF-κB p65 expression in the hypothalamus tissue of FD rats with liver-depression and spleen-deficiency type and the treatment of liver-depression and spleen-deficiency type with Chaizhu Liweiyin, Fan found that the NF-κB p65 protein and gene expression in the hypothalamus tissue of FD rats in the model group was elevated, and different dose groups of the formula could reduce the NF-κB p65 expression to different degrees (Fan et al., 2021). The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is depressive disorder.
