This screening revealed that patients with pancreatic cancer overexpressing MYEOV, named the myeloma overexpression gene [4], had significantly shorter disease-specific survival than those with low levels of MYEOV. MYEOV is known to be overexpressed not only in myeloma but also in breast, oral, esophageal, lung and colorectal cancers [5–9]. This evidence concerns the gene MYEOV and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
