Data indicative of BDNF involvement inthe pathogenesis of AD have been published [2,3, 4].Reduced BDNF expression is already observedat the early stage of the disease and correlates with an accumulation ofβ-amyloid and the hyperphosphorylated tau protein [5].The favorable effects of exogenous BDNF have beendemonstrated in various AD models. This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and Alzheimer disease.
